Newcastle Fringe Festival is a not-for-profit organisation run for the benefit of our artistic community. Since it’s inception in 2016, we have been committed to giving emerging artists a professional platform in which to produce their work, as well as acquire experience and knowledge to take their performances further.
A fringe festival is by nature open access and provides emerging artists with a launching pad for original work and critical experience, and we are passionate about bringing as much variety in entertainment options as possible to cater for all interests – Comedy, Theatre, Children’s Theatre, Music, Dance, Cabaret, Burlesque, Spoken Word, Performance Art and Circus. There is something for everyone.
Newcastle Fringe is committed to making the festival as economically viable for our artists as possible, our vision is to continue to present the biggest little fringe festival in Australia, but we can’t do this alone.
We are run by a passionate group of volunteers and supported each year by the generosity of our Partners & Sponsors. We have big goals for our little Fringe festival and believe that our city, and the incredible creative talent we have here, has the potential to put Newcastle on the map as one of the most exciting Fringe Festivals in the country.
