The Hip Gringos Guide To Rio
"The Hip Gringos Guide To Rio" is an hilarious musical cabaret, presented as a live to air radio play, guaranteed to produce involuntary foot tapping and cheek splitting smiles. The tangled amorous and other misadventures of travel writer, "Romeo" Edwards are exposed as he researches "The Hip Gringos Guide To Rio". Guided by two sensuous, but unstable, table top dancers. he attempts to discover relics of the lost era of the Bossa Nova (1956 to 1963) in the decadent and dangerous Rio of 1979. A fabulous array of samba, beguine and bossa nova music is performed by the cast who also play various characters. Featuring Helena Kitely (bass), Angel Manuel Serrano (trumpet/flute/sax), "Crackers" Carruthers (drums) and David Baker (guitar).
