Our Process
We use Eventotron for artist registrations. Eventotron is a platform trusted by some of the biggest (and smallest) Fringe Festivals around the world.
Not only can you register for Newcastle Fringe through Eventotron, but you can also promote your show and discover other performance opportunities across the fringe festival circuit.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I apply to perform?
Registration opens in August and can be submitted through [Eventotron/the official platform]. There are no auditions – the festival is open-access. Make sure you apply before the deadline at the end of September.
Do I need to have experience to apply?
Not at all! The Fringe welcomes emerging artists as well as seasoned professionals. All creative voices are welcome. The registration form will capture this information.
What costs are involved in performing?
Artists are responsible for registration fees and marketing their own show. We provide the venue to perform, the tech to support and marketing kit to help you promote your show.
Can I perform more than one show or in multiple venues?
Yes, many artists participate in more than one show or collaborate with multiple groups. Just ensure you manage your schedule carefully.
Will the festival promote my show?
We promote the festival as a whole and each artist at least once during our pre-season cycle, and we offer tools to help you market your individual show. You’ll also be listed in our print and online program.
Do you offer tech support or staff?
All venues provide in-house technical support. Tech runs are limited to 60 minutes. If you need to rehearse, you need to organise that on your own time and cost.
Can international artists apply?
Yes! We welcome applications from artists around the world. Please ensure you have the correct visa and permits if travelling internationally.
Can I sell merchandise at my show?
Yes – provided there is room at the front of the venue, and you have the capacity to man the stall.
